The Heart of West Michigan United Way wants to Rally Behind Veterans and Military Families, and they need our support.

It's called "Operation United for Veterans" and will mobilize teams of volunteers to complete landscaping and outdoor home repair projects for up to twenty local military veterans or those currently serving.

As a way to serve those who served our country, Heart of West Michigan United Way will take on projects including stair and ramp building and repair, house painting, refuse removal, mulching, tree planting, and lawn mowing.

Here is where we come in. If you or someone you know may benefit from this service, you are encouraged to apply. Applications are being accepted through March 15. Applicants must be a residents of Kent County and available for a brief site visit prior to May 17. Veterans or a family member (or representative) must be present at the home during the event. There is no fee, it is absolutely FREE!

United Way and it's volunteers with do all the work on Friday, May 17, 2019. All the work must be in Kent County.

Operation United is an opportunity to serve those who have done so much for our country and community.
