Holiday programs to help children, people and families in need this year have had to take on a little bit of a different look. Personal/physical contact is not a good idea due to COVID-19, so how do you handle the need? Virtually, of course!

Heart of West Michigan United Way is hosting an online 'Stuff the Sled' drive in order to give presents to over 1,000 Head Start students in Kent County.

Fox 17 reported that each gift bag will hold an age-appropriate toy, book, game the family can enjoy, and hats and gloves.

United Way says they are specifically looking for 35 companies, groups, and families to sponsor classrooms, with every sponsorship benefiting 16 students. Of course, not every company or family may not be able to commit to a classroom, so, United Way will help you set up a page that meets your group's budget.

The Stuff the Sled program is certainly not limited to companies, groups and families. They need our help, our individual help, as well. That means than anyone can participate by buying individually from the online store.

If you do want to be a sponsor, you are asked to purchase at least 14 of each item, which will be quoted by teachers of the classroom you're assigned.

The deadline to get involved is getting closer. It's December 1st, in order to ensure time for sorting and delivering the gifts. Teams and organizations can sign up here.

What do you think? Can you help? GREAT! YOU CAN SIGN UP HERE!
