Stella is Our Pet of the Week on Wet Nose Wednesday

Kaitlin from the Humane Society of West Michigan wasn't able to come into the studio this morning due, of course, to the COVID-19, but talked on the phone with me about Stella!

This 7-year-old sweetheart can be a bit shy at first, and would likely do well in a quiet, routine environment, but she has a lovely curiosity about her! Once comfortable, Stella is a social and affectionate lady, she’s smart, loves companionship, and wants to be included in all of life’s adventures! She enjoys car rides, walks, and exploring outside, especially if there’s snow on the ground that she can nibble on, run through, or roll around in! Stella is content being lazy and snuggling up with her people for a petting session, but would also love to tag along with her family wherever they go. Her foster mom says “Stella is a joy to be around"!

2020 In Review!

Happy New Year and here’s to a wonderful 2021 together!

We wanted to share some of our achievements from 2020 with you, and thank this community for your amazing support throughout this past year. In 2020 alone, you have helped us to foster nearly 1,000 pets, we’ve had over 200 doggie field trips through our Dog’s Day Out program, you’ve given so much through donations and fundraising to support the pets in our care, and with your help, we’ve been able to adopt out over 900 dogs, over 1,200 cats, and over 300 small animals! That’s ASTOUNDING, thank you!!

While 2020 may have given us a lot of obstacles to overcome, we are still so grateful for all of the opportunities you've given us this year--and we're looking forward to doing more good work together for pets in need!

Paws, Claws, and Corks

It’s that time of year again, and Paws, Claws & Corks is just around the corner!

As we continue to prioritize safety surrounding the COVID-19 virus, we are making the necessary changes to a virtual event format while still having our robust silent and live auctions, featuring favorite local restaurants, and celebrating the life-saving work of HSWM over the past year! Attendees, both local and national, will join together for a hybrid-style event to raise funds to support animals in need in West Michigan on Monday, March 15, 2021.
