Louise is Our Pet of the Week on Wet Nose Wednesday
Kaitlin from the Humane Society of West Michigan wasn't able to come into the studio this morning due, of course, to the COVID-19, but talked on the phone with me about Louise!
This pup is a sweet, fun-loving girl who would love to be the center of attention as the only pet in your life! Poor Louise had a rough start to life, so she's looking for an understanding owner with older, respectful children, who want to shower her with love! She enjoys being around her people and likes playing with toys. Louise would do especially well with a yard to safely play in with her family!

HSWM Blood Drive
Giving truly does warm the heart! We know this community is full of so many people with giving spirits--so we'd like to invite you to join us at HSWM for our Blood Drive!
In February, severe weather and seasonal illness can make it particularly difficult for Versiti Blood Center to maintain a sufficient blood supply, so your donation can give hope and strength to patients in need! Versiti provides blood donations to every hospital in the Grand Rapids area and their supplies are running dangerously low, so please consider giving if you can! The Versiti Blood Bus will be stationed in our parking lot on Saturday, February 20th, and will be accepting donations from 11am to 3pm.
Sign up through the link below to schedule your donor appointment, or visit our Facebook event page for further details. Walk-ins are also welcome!

Fostering Saves Lives!
Interested in supporting the Humane Society of West Michigan in a way that’s easy and cost-effective? Consider joining our foster program!
As more and more people go back to work, our number of active fosters has begun to dwindle as well, and we’re hoping to find some more! Fostering is rewarding and fun, and we provide our fosters with everything they require--from finding the perfect pet for their home, offering advice and vet care, and giving our fosters all of the necessary supplies.
Thanks to many compassionate members of our community, HSWM has been able to place nearly 1,000 shelter pets into foster homes between in 2020 alone! These Humane Heroes help our animals in so many ways, from raising newborn kittens to helping special needs pets, or just by providing a loving home until they find their forever families.
HWSM Critical Veterinary Equipment Fundraiser, THANK YOU!
Thank you all so SO much for your generous donations, we officially hit our HSWM Critical Veterinary Equipment Fundraising goal!!
In just over a week we were able to fundraise the total $6,500 needed to buy one Dental X-ray machine, and not one, but TWO Bair Hugger temperature systems, that's amazing! With these new pieces of veterinary equipment, our vet staff will be able to provide our animals with further medical support, at the level of care and safety that they deserve. We are overwhelmed by this community's support--each and every one of you makes our mission possible!
Thank you again to those of you who donated, our pets and our vets are eternally grateful for your support!
