Izzy is Our Pet of the Week on Wet Nose Wednesday
Kaitlin from the Humane Society of West Michigan wasn't able to come into the studio this morning due, of course, to the Coronavirus, but talked on the phone with me about Izzy!
Izzy, is a 10-year-old Silver Paws kitty, meaning she is fee waived!
Like many of us, the way to Izzy's heart is through her stomach! She can be a bit of a sassy pants in new situations but give her some treats and you'll make fast friends! Here at the shelter, she smiles at us with her eyes all the time. Izzy would do best with a slow introduction to a quiet home, but once she’s comfortable she’s a lap cat and a total couch potato!

Adopt a Senior Pet Month (November 1st-30th)
November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month--so we’d love to bring attention to our Silver Paws program!
All year long HSWM offers FEE-WAIVED adoptions for cats over 10 years of age, and dogs over 7 years of age! These pets may have less time with you than a puppy or a kitten, but they’re always so grateful for a quiet home to retire to, and they will repay you with lots of love! If you’re thinking about adopting this month, please consider one of our Silver Paw pets.
Fostering Saves Lives!
Interested in supporting the Humane Society of West Michigan in a way that’s easy and cost-effective? Consider joining our foster program!
Fostering is rewarding and fun, and we provide our fosters with everything they require--from finding the perfect pet for their home, offering advice and vet care, and giving our fosters all of the necessary supplies.
Thanks to many compassionate members of our community, HSWM has been able to place 843 shelter pets into foster homes between January 1, 2020, and November 2, 2020! These humane heroes help our animals in so many ways, from raising newborn kittens to helping special needs pets, or just by providing a loving home until they find their forever families.
Last, but not least,
The results are in for Bark in the Dark 2020!
We are so grateful to this community for supporting animals in need. Because of generous businesses and individuals like you, HSWM was able to raise $57,958.83 through Bark in the Dark 2020. We know so many things looked different this year, but throughout all of it, our community shifted to safely help the animals we care for. Thank you for your support!
