Trudy Jeffers, Executive Director of the Humane Society of West Michigan, was on my morning show yesterday and mentioned that they had a record year in pet adoptions in 2015. WOW, was it ever. Congratulation!

The Humane Society of West Michigan very proudly announced that by the year’s end 3,038 animals had been matched with their new families and found their forever homes. This is a significant increase over adoptions in 2014, with an additional 676 adoptions taking place in 2015. This year 1,153 dogs and puppies, 1,776 cats and kittens, 70 rabbits, and 39 other small animals were adopted from HSWM and welcomed home by individuals and families in our community.

What a big thank you goes to the West Michigan community for opening their homes and hearts to these 3,038 animals in need of their love and care. Also, many thanks to the dedicated volunteers, donors, and sponsors who support the organization’s mission and allowed HSWM to expand its capacity in order to extend resources and rescue more animals in 2015.
