One thing guaranteed about local television, there will always be changes. We have seen it of TV8, TV13 and TV3, and now, Fox17 as the morning show is adding another new face and rotating anchors.

Fox17 is welcoming Michelle Dunaway, a journalist with more than 20 years of experience covering news in Michigan, joined the team yesterday, Monday, November 22.

Moving to Grand Rapids from TV9 & 10 in Cadillac, Dunaway will anchor alongside Tessa DiTirro from 6-9 a.m. Early morning anchor/reporter Ruta Ulcinaite, chief meteorologist Kevin Craig, meteorologist Candace Monacelli and traffic anchor Robb Westaby will also be part of the newscast..

Friday morning was the big "reveal" of Dunaway as she was introduced to viewers during Friday’s newscast.

Dunaway has spent nearly 22 years in broadcast news, having first worked in Dubuque, IA. during the caucuses in 1998. She has interviewed many prominent politicians, including George W. Bush, before his presidential victory. She then moved to 9&10 News in Cadillac where she has done some rather exciting things like climbing to the top and the bottom of the Mackinac Bridge, touring the inside of the Soo Locks, and flying with the Blue Angels. Yikes!

The 5-6 a.m. hour of FOX 17 Morning News will be anchored by Ruta and Tessa in addition to Candace and Robb.

Fox17 isn't through however. The said, but wait, there's more coming in 2022!

It's great to have Michelle and her family join us here in West Michigan. She said, “It’s been such a joy to be here. Our family moved to West Michigan in August. We love it here. The restaurants, the shopping, the people, the culture. We’re big into musical theatre. We love Broadway Grand Rapids and concerts in the area. We’ve been very busy seeing all there is to see. It’s fun to explore. “
