Red Wings Move Game So Lions Fans Can Watch Game
The Detroit Lions are in the NFL playoffs, just in case you didn't know. They won their first playoff game in 32-years and the town and fans are going crazy.
Their next game against Tampa Bay is this Sunday at 3 p.m. and of course on national TV. Who wants to miss THIS game! Nobody! But that puts the Red Wings in a quandary. They had a game scheduled for 5 p.m. at Little Caesars Arena and the Lions will still be playing. Oops!
So what do you do? Punt of course and move your game to a later time. Now the Wings will be playing at 7 p.m.
This really isn't pushing the Red Wings to the back burner. It's a win-win for all. (Hopefully a WIN for the Lions!)
The Lions have certainly become the "belle of the ball" in the NFL with adoring fans lining up across the country. Their playoff game win against the Rams was the highest rated playoff game on TV since a past Super Bowl and Sunday's game should be the same.
Ticket prices have soared as well. Just to get into Ford Field the lowest price found has been $500. Fox17 reported the cheapest seats on TickPick right now are around $690, which is roughly $400 more expensive than the second-most expensive game this weekend between the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers. Amazing!
The Lions are a slight favorite in the Tampa Bay game and if they win they will either play San Francisco or Green Bay in the NFC Championship game.
We all know what the NFC champ does. They play in the Super Bowl.
Who would have thought!
