Detroit Wing Company Closing Stores. Will They Close Grand Rapids?

Ahh, the wonderful deliciousness of wings. Who doesn't love a good helping of chicken wings? No one I know.

There are a "mess" of wing stores/restaurants in Grand Rapids, and I've tried many of them. Not too long ago, I discovered Detroit Wings, and WOWZER! They were great!

And it's not just wings that they have. I haven't tried all of these yet but they have signature chicken wing sauces, chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, mac and cheese, poutine and more!

So, you'll have to understand when I say my heart literally skipped a beat when I was reading that Detroit Wings stores were closing. Aaarrrgghhh!!!

So, hearing about closing after I finally found my wing place was crushing. But, and that's a big but, that is not the whole story. Whew!

It turns out only the Flint area stores are closed without any announcement. They just fired all the employees, locked the doors and said, that's it, see ya!

It was an independent franchisee operator that closed the three Flint area stores, and the corporate team is working to reopen all three locations as soon as possible and will try to retain as many employees as possible.

But, thankfully, our two Grand Rapids locations are open.
