The sun came out as temperatures reached the upper 50s across West Michigan on Saturday. The good weather had everyone enjoying the outdoors...including hundreds of golfers across West Michigan.

At the La Gorce Country Club in Miami, Florida, the rules apply to everyone. Even the greatest basketball player of all time.

A couple of weeks ago we told you about five West Michigan high school teams and two individuals who brought home state championships.  Now, we have more good news. West Catholic's Sam Weatherhead, winner of the Division 3 individual boys golf championship, has been named the best high school boys golfer in Michigan!

Is this the happiest kid you've ever seen? It's Will Kolenda, who is 10 years old.  Will loves golf, and was taking part in a golf camp last Wednesday at his family's course, Golden Sands Golf & Grill in Silver Lake.

It was a very successful weekend for West Michigan high school teams.  Unity Christian, Calvin Christian, Hudsonville, Grand Rapids Christian, Hamilton, and West Catholic all brought home either team or individual championships!

The golf season is almost upon us.  Actually, with all of the warm weather we had at the end of winter and beginning of spring, one would have thought it was already here. I thought there should be a follow up to the Tiger Woods firing of Steve Williams story that I posted yesterday. As you know, on Wednesday, Woods formally announced that he and caddie Steve Williams were parting ways, a decision that he'd apparently broken to Williams several weeks ago.

While most everything that involves Tiger Woods is news, this one shouldn't be that much of a shocker. Team Tiger announced on its website Wednesday that Steve Williams will no longer be working with Woods as a caddie, ending a 12-year relationship that saw the two rack up 13 of Tiger's 14 major championships.
