Tulip Time is Just a Month Away
The 89th Annual Tulip Time Festival is about to "bloom" this year, May 5th through the 13th. Amazing, huh, 89 years. It's a national festival with people visiting Holland and West Michigan from all over the country, and, the world, for that mater.
There are so many places to visit, activities to do, and shows to see, not to mention, Tulips!
Tulip Time 2018 has really ramped it up this year with some exciting national entertainment featuring The Beach Boys!
Friday night, May 11 at Central Wesleyan, will be a fun, fun, fun time. Although the concert is already sold out, they are making a waiting list as sometimes tickets are returned.
There is the New Odyssey Dinner Show – This high-energy festival favorite has arrangements of nearly every musical stylem performed by three ultra-talented guys on 30 different musical instruments! An additional performance has been added for 2018. New Odyssey will be performing at the Haworth Inn from Mon., May 7 through Sat., May 12 from 6:30p-9p. Tickets, which include a fabulous dinner, are $46/person.
The Texas Tenors will be there. America’s favorite tenors take the stage Wednesday, May 9 7-8:30 pm at Central Wesleyn. Since their whirlwind debut eight years ago on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” The Texas Tenors have accumulated a long list of awards and accolades, and have performed more than 1,000 concerts around the world.
FiddleFire, Liverpool Legends, and more, will all be at Tulip time.
There will be Local Arts & Culture Performances, as well. Calendar Girls – Based on the true story of 11 women who posed nude for a calendar to raise money for the Leukemia Research Fund, but, No actual nudity in this performance.
The Three Faces of Steve - Holland Windmill Chorus wraps its barbershop harmonies around a parody of “Three Faces of Eve” – the 1957 film about a woman with multiple personalities.
Tulip Time Quilt Show is a great show to enjoy a unique display of more than 100 exquisite handmade bed quilts, wall hangings, and art quilts.
Happily Ever Laughter with the Holland Chorale, Dutch Organ Music, Dutch Brunch & Show, BBOP with a lot of swing, A Tulip Time Talent Showcase, a Taste of Holland Lunch, Dutch Treat , a hands-on cooking experience, Nights at the Knick with Michigan talent, and, Michigan's own, Joshua Davis who gained national acclaim as a finalist on NBC’s “The Voice.
Of course, there will be the traditional street scrubbing with the Governor, and Klompen Dancing.
