I know the typical "summer beach season" is over, however there is so much fall beach weather ahead. But for those with a disability, it's tough to impossible to navigate a beach. That is until this came along. What is it?  It's called a Trackchair.

What a gift it is for folks with a disability to be able to move around the beach enjoying the same joy we all have.

Holland State Park received a couple earlier this year and they are so excited they have been able to provide the gift of ability to so many.

The Family Hope Foundation made the donation so that the park would have them.

The chairs can be reserved for FREE on a first-come, first-served basis. They are user-friendly and can handle a variety of terrains, including sand, snow, hiking trails and up to eight inches of water. Truly amazing!

Even more amazing, the chairs are also equipped with a secondary controller that can be used if the person utilizing the chair is not able to drive it themselves.

Sean Mulligan with Holland State Park said:

“It’s just priceless when somebody [who has been] in the outdoors and maybe had an accident or something that’s created this disability. They have the opportunity to get back into the outdoors and do something they love again. The expressions on their face, their emotions, it is all great.”

The chairs have become so popular across state parks that Ionia and Ludington parks are fundraising to add track chairs to their amenities as well. Warren Dunes State Park just added a Trackchair and people couldn't be happier.
