If you are looking for a great meal and want to dine out, for my money there is nothing like a great steak dinner. But, where will you find a really good steak in Grand Rapid?

There are a lot of steak house chain restaurants around, Longhorn, Outback, Texas Roadhouse, and others. But, where will you find a truly fine dining steak that will blow your socks off?

I checked out YELP for reviews from Grand Rapidians and West Michigan diners, and my own experience, to see what thoughts were out there and came up with their, and my, top five Steak House list.

5. Longhorn Steakhouse

I've never been to a Longhorn Steakhouse but reviewers were saying things either like this is my favorite restaurant, highly recommended, and some not so kind with comments like I give it two stars because of poor service.

4. Ruth Chris Steak House

Ruth's is one of my favorite Grand Rapids restaurants and, of course know for steak. Their chicken and seafood are tops as well, and the wine selection is wonderful. Some reviews said this place is to die for. But something may complicate someone's visit as one reviewer noted that they got a bad table by the kitchen and it didn't work.

3. FireRock Grille at Stonewater Country Club

I like the FireRock as well with steak served on a 500 degree stone to finish cooking. Pretty cool. Most people liked their experience there.

2. The Chop House

Again, one of my favorite places to dine. It's expensive, for sure, but for that special meal, this could be your place. Other reviews ranged from a five-star rating from an out-of-towner, "Ummmmmm do yourself a favor and come to this restaurant." Others said one of their top three in Grand Rapids.

And. the Number One YELP reviewed Grand Rapids steak house is.....

1. Bowdie's Chophouse

Sadly, I have to admit I have not been to Bowdie's yet. I'm slipping, But according to YELP'S reviews it's just about a five-star spot. "The food was absolutely delicious and the service was both excellent and kind. The ambience was a cozy yet fancy vibe," one reviewer stated. Some, however, like the Saugatuck Bowdie's better than the East Grand Rapids location. To each his own.

Mmmmm! Time to dive into that Ribeye!
