The Crunchy vs Smooth Battle is On

I don't know about you, but this battle went on in my house for a long time. I want crunchy! I want smooth! So, I had both ready. What am I talking about? Crunchy and smooth peanut butter, of course!

But, it's interesting, whether or not you like your peanut butter creamy or crunchy actually may say more about you than you think, according to new research.

Here's the low down. In a study conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Jif ahead of National Peanut Butter Lovers Day this coming Monday, the website SWNS.Digital, wrote that it seemed to be evenly split on  crunchy vs. creamy. But, because your choice says a lot about you, they found that if you like crunchy peanut butter, you have a cheerier outlook on life.

Sixty-three percent of those who prefer crunchy peanut butter describe themselves as optimists, compared to 56% of those who prefer creamy.

Now, for creamy fans, they were more of an early bird and more introverted – whereas their crunchy counterparts were more likely to be night owls and extroverts.

Also, a third of all respondents described themselves as “extremely” passionate about their peanut butter preference. In fact, we are so passionate, that rather than asking your date what they do for a living or where they’ll see themselves in five years – you may want to ask about their peanut butter preference. The results showed that nearly half of all respondents said it would be a deal-breaker to find out their date is on the opposite side of the creamy vs. crunchy debate. Yikes!

This survey went deep, too. When they asked people to think about their childhoods,  creamy fans were teased more over their peanut butter choice than crunchy fans.

As for a classic PB&J – as both sides prefer grape jelly over strawberry.

Full disclosure, I'm a Crunchy fan big time. Gimme those peanuts. And actually, I prefer it without jelly. I know I'm crazy, but, if I do add jelly, then it has to be Grape! Yay!
