Spectrum Health hospitals are removing their testing tents because less people have been needing testing and this is good news.

According to FOX 17, Spectrum Health is now able to handle COVID-19 testing inside so there is no need for the outdoor testing in tents.

Social distancing is working at slowing the spread of the coronavirus and is now making it easier for local hospitals to do their work inside rather than outside in a tent.

The removal of tents started on April 17th but if there is a surge the hospitals can easily set testing tents back up.

So if you are feeling symptoms and feel you need to be tested, call a head to your nearest medical provider and they will walk you through the method of setting up a test.

The regions hospitals are set up inside for safe testing and treatment while at the same time keeping other patients and medical staff safe as well.

Here is a list FOX 17 provided of Spectrum Health hospitals where tents have been taken down: Big Rapids, Gerber Memorial, Kelsey Hospital, Ludington Hospital, Pennock, Reed City Hospital, United Hospital and Zeeland Hospital.

If you feel a drive through test is still best for you, tents are still available at Butterworth, Blodgett, Helen DeVos Childrens' Hospital and a collection site 1300 Michigan St. NE.
