Domestic Violence Incident In Walker Leaves Family Devastated

These are the kind of stories you never want to hear, and yet this kind of thing seems to repeat over and over again.

This morning the Walker Police Department was called to another domestic situation, on Bristol, NW. It was a deadly incident.

Fox17 reported that there were three people involved in a shooting, and one was dead.

The Walker Police say that all of the victims were related, and that this address was well known to the department since they had been called to assist in domestic problems several times. Sadly, this was the worst of calls.

One man was found dead, allegedly the shooter, with two other victims suffering several gunshot wounds. They were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. One report said the wounds were serious but appeared not to be life-threatening. We'll hope for the best.

WHAT IS HAPPENING?

On a national level, NBC/Washington reports that murder-suicides, on average, happen more than once a day somewhere in the United States, studies show.

This nations murder-suicide statistics are so heartbreaking and startling. NBC/Washington says:

"They are most often committed by white men armed with guns, and the majority of the people murdered are their significant others.
Of the murder victims, 57% to 65% are the romantic or intimate partners of the person who died by suicide.
The person committing the crime is a man, 92% of the time. More than 70% of the time, that man is white.
Roughly 87% of the time, a gun is involved."

Walker Police will continue to investigate the situation and hopefully be able to provide more information soon. Of course, names have not been release yet.
