Pistol Packin’ Toddler Arrives at Daycare Locked and Loaded
What a strange story this is, but it's absolutely true. It happened in Canton, Michigan, in the Detroit area.
Monday, a toddler was dropped off at daycare. Nothing strange here. The parents leave and all is well. Except when the child began unpacking the backpack he/she pulled out some stuff and then a gun, still in its holster.

You would expect to find some clothes, maybe food inside, but a gun? Yep, and it was loaded!
Oops!
The staff jumped in immediately and called the Canton Police and they charged over there. They secured the weapon, and began an investigation.
Click on Detroit.com reported there was no ongoing threat in the case, but there certainly was a lot of shock and worry. Was the toddler going to shoot up the place?

Of course not. Did he/she actually know what the big deal was? Did the parents?

The school’s director of the center sent a message to all parents that "they reported finding the weapon — which was still in its holster — after the child removed it from their backpack. As soon as staff became aware of the firearm, they immediately intervened and secured the weapon."
Shockingly, the story gets even more weird because after contacting police about the incident, school officials discovered that the child’s father is also a police officer. What?“

The school director said “The supervising teacher remained calm and followed the appropriate safety response.”
How the child got the weapon in the first place is still not clear. However, Canton police said one of the toddler’s parents has since been arrested.
The plot thickens!
