The Diocese of Grand Rapids is warning of a potential scam which involves someone posing as a representative of the diocese and making phone calls asking for donations for "victims of the Haitian hurricane."
The Cornerstone reads May 30, 1875. It was a marker for the Church of Saint Andrew and was sealed on that date 140 years ago. This Saturday, May 30, 2015, the Church, which has become the Cathedral of Saint Andrew, will commemorate its 140th anniversary.
In April, David John Walkowiak was announced as the next Bishop of the Diocese of Grand Rapids.
Details about the ordination were announced last month.
Today, the visitors from around the country have filled the Cathedral of Saint Andrew in Grand Rapids to capacity for today's ordination.

Walkowiak comes from Ohio and will take over for Bishop Walter Hurley. Bishop Hurley has reached the mandatory retirement age of 75.
