Each applicant attending the Survivor Casting Call will be videotaped by CBS 62 and will have one minute to explain why they should be a contestant on Survivor. There is no need to bring your own audition tape to an open call – we will be filming you!

Former competitor Kyle Jason from Detroit will be on hand from 3-5pm. He actually earned his berth on the show from a Channel 62 audition, so it does work.

In a recent interview with EW, Jeff Probst revealed that the 20 new Survivors will be joined on next season's show by Survivor legends Boston Rob Mariano and Sandra Diaz-Twine, who will serve as mentors.

"They aren’t playing, they can’t cast a vote, they can’t be voted out, and they can’t win the million dollars. The basic idea is they run a Survivor boot camp. They teach aspects of the game and then give players a chance to test what they’ve learned.”

The new season will be called 'Island of the Idols', but no location has been revealed.
