Cut. It. Out. A street in Michigan will soon be renamed for a man who is possibly the most famous person from the town.

St. Clair Shores, Michigan announced that they will be renaming a section of Lange St. Well, sort of. "Dave Coulier Way" will be the honorary name of the street in the town along Lake St. Clair.

The city announced the new street name Tuesday morning. An official dedication will be held on Sunday, August 8.

They say that since this is an honorary street name, and not a legal change, folks who live on the street will not have to legally change their address.

So, Why Lange Street?

Fox-2 Detroit reports that Coulier grew up in St. Clair Shores on that very street.

There will be three areas of the street where the honorary signs will be added:

  • One at Lange St. and Jefferson.
  • One at Lange St. and Greater Mack
  • And one at Lange St. and Harper.

Why This Honorary Street Naming Has Meaning.

Coulier, who is best known for playing Joey Gladstone on both "Full House" and "Fuller House", says that he hopes that the street naming will "serve as an inspiration to people in St. Clair Shores going into the entertainment industry."

Coulier said in an interview with MLive.com that when he was a kid riding his bike down that street he had big dreams, mostly of becoming a hockey player.

And while we saw his love of hockey, specifically the Detroit Red Wings, via the jerseys that he often wore during his time on "Full House" that dream didn't pan out - luckily his acting and comedy career did.

What is Dave Coulier Up to These Days?

Well, according to his Instagram, Coulier is spending a LOT of time in Michigan. In fact, back in 2019, he announced that he and his wife Melissa would be building a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired home right back in the town where he grew up - Lake St. Clair.
