As I said, the Allegan County Fair has for years been a top place to see big name entertainers. I remember years ago I saw Reba McIntire at the height of her performing career. And, her opening act was a young up and coming singer that she gave a break to, Garth Brooks! What a concert that turned out to be!
Since the late 80s Melissa Etheridge has been producing hit after hit, with so many of her songs receiving Grammy nominations, 15, and winning two! I would say Melissa's music could be considered a mixture of "confessional lyrics, pop-based folk-rock, and raspy, smoky vocals."
Wynonna, is one of the most widely recognized and awarded female country musicians in history. She has had 19 No. 1 singles, including those with The Judds, of course with her mother Naomi.
When the Judds disbanded due to her mother illness, she went solo and never slowed down. She would reunite with her mother, Naomi, as Naomi's health improved, a couple of times, but her solo career just kept rocking along as well.
Wynonna's career highlight was On May 1, 2022, when Wynonna and Naomi Judd were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame as members of The Judds.
