Will You Open Your Heart for This Special Kitty? He Needs Love!
Today's furry friend is a brave and super sweet kitten that the Humane Society of West Michigan has fallen in love with while they have been caring for his medical needs--Liberty!
The handsome Liberty, our favorite pectus excavatum boy, got his chest plate removed recently, but unfortunately despite our best efforts, his second chest plate didn’t work either. A new owner could attempt an internal correction with an experienced veterinary surgeon, however, some cats with pectus excavatum never develop clinical distress, so it's impossible to know if his chest defect will cause symptoms for Liberty or if it will alter his life expectancy."
Despite his medical condition, he is the most lovable kitten ever and we're all obsessed with him! His foster family says, "We love Liberty so much and he’s an incredibly sweet and tolerant boy and no matter how long he has! He loves to cuddle, and whoever scoops him up will be so lucky to be loved by him!"
If you'd like to adopt Liberty and give him a loving "furever" home, please visit our website at hswestmi.org/adoptablecats.html

National Shelter Appreciation Week
Help us celebrate National Animal Shelter Appreciation week this week!
Working at a shelter can be both incredibly rewarding and incredibly taxing as well. As a 100% donor-funded non-profit, it would be completely impossible to do all of the good work we do without your help, so we are always grateful for this community's support!
If you'd like to show us your appreciation this week, you can donate, foster, or volunteer! Learn about opportunities to get involved with HSWM at https://www.hswestmi.org/support.html
