Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets--and what Lola wants is a furever home for the holidays! This buttery soft bun is a beautiful rex mix, and at just 1 year old, she’s got lots of years to spend with you!

Her foster mom says "Y'all know those candies sour patch kids? Lola is the definition of them, sour then sweet, so I'm nicknaming her Sour Patch Kid! Lola had a rough past so it's taking her time to open up and trust me, but she's making progress each and every day! She's letting me pet her and taking treats from my hand, she really wants to be a good girl and I'm so proud of how far she's come! She loves snuggling up in her bed, and eating basil tops and other crunchy leafy greens, she's the cutest little muncher."

Giving Tuesday was yesterday, but there’s still time to donate today and have twice the positive impact on animals in need! Any and all donations given to HSWM to support our pets and our mission today will be matched, dollar for dollar, thanks to Chow Hound and two anonymous donors, up to $25,000!

We're aiming to raise over $60,000 to care for the over 4,000 animals that enter our doors each year, and we cannot do it without your help. .For any donors that give $50 or more during this fundraiser, you can receive a one-of-a-kind pawprint pet painting from our amazing furry artists! To donate, head to our website at hswestmi.org/givingtuesday and make your gift, or visit our Facebook page.

LOOK: Here are the pets banned in each state

Because the regulation of exotic animals is left to states, some organizations, including The Humane Society of the United States, advocate for federal, standardized legislation that would ban owning large cats, bears, primates, and large poisonous snakes as pets.

Read on to see which pets are banned in your home state, as well as across the nation.
