Penelope is our Pet of the Week on Wet Nose Wednesday

Emily stopped by with Penelope. Penelope is a 5-year-old Terrier mix that came to the Humane Society from Flint, MI last week. She is an easy going girl who walks great on a leash! We do not have any history of how she is with other animals or children. 

Emily discussed End of Year Giving - At this time of year, as many nonprofits are, they  are looking to our community for support. They are asking that the community consider a year-end gift to HSWM. They can do this online at www.hswestmi.org/give.

Here is something great for Mom and Dad and the kids. It's the Winter Escape this Friday, December 14 from 6 - 9 PM for our Kids Night Out event Winter Escape! There will be a movie, food, crafts, and more! This event is for children ages 7-10 and it is $20 per child ($10 for each additional sibling). Register by emailing: kshippy@hswestmi.org.

Tomorrow is Dine to Donate (13th) - Join HSWM at Slows BarBQ in the Downtown Market for great food for a great cause! 15% of sales from the day will be donated. All you need to do is mention HSWM to have your meal count! We will have an info table at the restaurant and will have a raffle with prizes! Valid all day: 11am-9pm.

Also tomorrow night, Fido Night (13th) - Blue Dog Tavern and Blake's Hard Cider are partnering to host an event supporting HSWM! Blue Dog Tavern will be donating $2 from every pint of FIDO (Blake's Hard Ciders' newest release) purchased from 6-9pm. Blake's has teamed up with Pets for Patriots to raise funds to support their lifesaving work, pairing shelter animals with veterans! Stop in and drink great cider and leave with some pretty great FIDO dog swag!

Then, Monday the 17th is Brushes with Benefits. Join the Humane Society for a paint night to benefit HSWM at Big Boiler Brewing in Lowell at 7 pm for a fun event to benefit the animals at HSWM. Tickets are required by 12/10 and can be purchased at via our Facebook page.
