Pebbles the dog came calling today.

Pebbles visited with Andy Rent as he talked about him on his Andy in the Morning show for Wet Nose Wednesday.

Trudy, from the Humane Society of West Michigan, brought Pebbles  into the studios.

Pebbles is a 9- month old Australian Cattle Dog/American Staffordshire Terrier mix, that needs a good, loving home. Pebbles has been neutered, had all her vaccinations, is micro chipped, and ready to find a new home.

According to the American Kennel Club, the Australian Cattle Dog needs a job to remain happy. It is not surprising, considering its original purpose, that the ACD is a very high-energy dog as well as an extremely intelligent one. This means that your ACD needs a job or a purpose in life in order for them (and you) to be happy. The Staffordshire Terrier is a confident, good-natured and smart dog. They enjoy daily exercise and is adaptable to almost anything you want to do to provide this. Sounds like a good pet to me.

There are several fund raising events around the Grand Rapids area to support the Humane Society. This Friday, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., at Seva Yoga, the downtown location, 1140 Monroe Ave NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503, they are having a drop-in yoga class, with cash donations only going, 100%, to the Humane Society.

On February 4th, at 5 p.m., the 616 Lofts on Michigan, NE, is holding an event for pet lovers. Opening just a few months ago, the 616 Lofts is pet friendly, and holding a Pets are Family event sponsored in part by the Humane Society of West Michigan. There will be all sorts of treats, drinks, training instruction, etc., and the Humane Society will have some of their pets there in hopes that "love happens," if you get my drift.

You can get all the information on the Humane Society website or call (616) 453-8900.

Wet Nose Wednesday on 100.5 The River is sponsored by Chow Hound Pet Supplies.
