As we count down the shopping days until Christmas, consider a lasting way to give back to your community.

Adopt Budgie from Crash's Landing and make it a holiday season you'll never forget.

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Every Friday on 100.5 The River is "Purrrfect Friday," where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home. This week, we're spotlighting Budgie.

Budgie was born in the summer of 2011.

He was rescued by a cat-lover named Mary in a Wyoming mobile home park. Mary rescued Budgie and had him tested for Feline Leukemia. He tested negative. She also had him tested for FIV. He tested positive.

His positive test for FIV made him a perfect fit for Big Sid's Sanctuary at Crash's Landing. Today, Budgie is ready to be adopted and join a new family.

Can you adopt Budgie?
