What? Snow this weekend? In two words, "Most Probably!"

Okay, we're not going to be able to ski yet, but it's going to be darn cold this weekend according to the Fox17 weather team and with that, we will probably see snow! Kids are going to be thrilled and I see snowmen appearing in yards and snowball fights coming.

Why the snow now? Fox17's Haleigh Vaughn says that a large cold air mass is expected to sweep across West Michigan this upcoming weekend, leading to daytime high temperatures in the 30s and the chance for widespread light snow showers.

Are you excited? Did you get all the leaves raked? Oops! What? You didn't rake yesterday with temperatures in the mid-70s? Uh-oh! This weather will begin a bit later in the day Friday with rain and probably change over to some snow on Saturday as a wintery mix and then become all snow. Holy Snowman!

How cold will it be? Haleigh says the coldest day of the weekend will be Sunday, with a high temperature of 36 degrees in Grand Rapids. Lake effect snow showers will fall across the area all day, especially for locations along and towards the west of U.S. 131. We could see two inches or so around here, with the possibility of more south along the lakeshore.

And, this isn't going away because it looks like next week will be cold as well with highs only in the 30s and 40s, although we may not have any more snow.

Winter doesn't officially begin for over a month, but snow in Michigan, of course, can come anytime.

Happy shoveling!
