Being locked indoors for the past couple of months has been tough on a lot of people and having a pet companion can be just the medicine to cure the loneliness.

The Humane Society of West Michigan is hosting an adoption special for frontline workers active military and vets. Throughout the month of June, those who qualify only have to pay $50 for their new fur baby. Promotion applies to the first 20 qualifying adoptions.

If you want a little help to get started, meet 3 ½-year-old Ava! This medium mixed breed girl is single & ready to mingle. She's been in need of a home since February. She's an energetic gal who loves to play fetch and spend time outside. Ava is bright and enjoys learning new skills and tricks. Ava is looking for a monogamous relationship where she can have all of your heart.
