Final Vote Rankings of ArtPrize Public Vote Finalists
The winners of ArtPrize Eight were announced Friday night, then the annual event closed on Sunday.
Take a look at the Public Vote category winners and how all of the Top 20 finished within their own category.
You'll find a few surprises and a few results that were somewhat expected.
It seems the only thing that may have held back "Sweet Spot" was it's location. If it had been in one of the higher traffic venues at ArtPrize, it may have won the grand prize. Its second place category finish seems to support the possibility. Most who viewed the piece at Brush Studio seemed to enjoy it.
"Trout Bike" was a debate starter throughout ArtPrize. Its finish seemed impossible to predict. Would it win? Would it finish last out of the Top 20? In the end it finished fourth in its category.
I loved Zimoun's "250 prepared ac-motors, 325kg roof laths, 1.0km rope" at SiTE:LAB. Apparently, the general public didn't. It finished last in its category. Maybe another case of a hard-to-get-to venue keeping votes down?
