To say both teams were cantankerous is an understatement. 144 minutes in penalties were doled out as the Griffs went up 2-1 in the best of five series with Chicago.

The Grand Rapids Griffins were more than a little cranky as their AHL playoff series with the Chicago Wolves continued to be full of rowdy behavior.

The Griffins fought off the Wolves and bad ice to win 6-2 to take a 2-1 AHL divisional series lead, with game five back on home ice Wednesday night.

A delay of over an hour to repair the Van Andel Arena ice may have made both teams angry, as the fights broke out shortly after play resumed. But the Griffs held serve and can clinch the series and upset the top seeded Wolves tonight.

Here's a look at last night's action.
