Eve the dog came calling today.

Eve visited with Andy Rent as he talked about her on his Andy in the Morning show for Wet Nose Wednesday.

Trudy, from the Humane Society of West Michigan, brought Eve into the studios.

Eve is a 2 1/2 year old retriever lab mix who came last week in an animal transport from Mississippi. She's a love and needs a home!

She's heartworm positive, which means an additional $100 is added to the adoption fee of $175 to help offset the expensive cost of heartworm treatment.  Six months of hearworm preventative is also required of the adopter to purchase, and the Humane Society will match six months so Eve will be all set for a year.

According to the American Kennel Club, the retriever/lab mix dog is friendly and outgoing and plays well with others. They are very active and can be high-spirited and not afraid to show it. Yes, they are great with children.

Trudy also said our hearts go out to the victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. She stressed that the Humane Society of West Michigan (HSWM) continues to ready their facility, and grow financial and other resources to help animals affected by this tragedy.  They also remain a rescue destination with their transport partner ASPCA and other Southern shelters.   At the same time, HSWM remains committed to continue care of  local animals in need, as well as those in neighboring counties.

In order to support the relocation effort, they have set up the ANIMAL RELOCATION FUND. By giving to this lifesaving rescue program, your dollars will go into a fund designated for transport related needs.
