Bunnies as Pets? Yes, And Pancake and Milkshake are Adorable!

Pancake and Milkshake, two adorable bunnies in our care, would make the perfect family pets!

Pancake is outgoing and LOVES pets! He's sweet, easy to handle and play with. Milkshake needs a little bit of time to warm up, but he's also just as sweet as his name!

Milkshake is a bit more independent and curious than Pancake, but these two make the perfect pair. It's really fun to watch them together, they clearly really love each other and they cuddle a lot. Both rabbits are pretty good about using a litter box as long as it is where they want it to be. Pancake and Milkshake have lived in a home with kids and cats before, and are hoping to find a furever home to go to together soon!

Save the Date for Paws, Claws, & Corks

Humane Society of West Michigan is thrilled to announce we’ll be hosting our 11th annual Paws, Claws & Corks on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023, in the DeVos Place Steelcase Ballroom!

Attendees that join us for this gala fundraiser will have the opportunity to sip on samples of fine wines and microbrews, enjoy tastes of Grand Rapids’ best restaurants, and bid on exciting packages and adventures in our live and silent auctions. Most importantly, all funds raised will benefit the animals and mission of Humane Society of West Michigan.

We can’t wait to celebrate the life-saving work of our shelter over the past year, save the date, and stay tuned for more updates soon!

Caturday Camp

Do you have a kid at home who's crazy for cats? Then you've got to sign them up for our Camp Caturday--a camp that's all thing CATS!

Starting Saturday, February 4th, from 10 to noon, and aimed at kids aged 5-15, these sessions will explore different types of domestic cats, reading their body language, the responsibilities involved in cat ownership, and learning all about kitten season!

It's just $10 per session, and you can sign up for just one, or all four sessions, happening March 4th, April 1st, and May 6th! Register today by emailing aheddy@hswestmi.org

Junior Volunteer Club
Or maybe you have an older child at home that would like to do some volunteering–you're never too young to start–so sign your kids up today for our Junior Volunteer Club!

This opportunity is for older kids, ages 10 to 15, to come in and start learning the ins and outs of volunteering at HSWM. Junior Volunteers will socialize with and provide enrichment to shelter animals, organize donations and so much more!

At just $10 per session, Junior Volunteers can attend one or more sessions, happening on Saturdays, February 11th, March 11th, and April 8th, and Tuesdays February 21st, March 21st, and April 18th. Contact aheddy@hswestmi.org to register!
