ArtPrize in partnership with Second Ave Arts today announced a three-day exhibition named Collectors Show / SPRING.

Collectors Show / SPRING will be held at the ArtPrize HUB in Grand Rapids from March 31 - April 2.

The show will feature 30 past ArtPrize artists and 20 artists from New York City, including Robert DeNiro Sr.

The artwork will be on display and available for purchase. 20 percent of the proceeds will directly support Arts Education programming at ArtPrize 2016. Collectors Show is held twice annually.

An open call to participate was sent to past ArtPrize artists, and New York-based artist and Grand Haven native Tyler Loftis, selected 30 from the nearly 400 submissions to form this SPRING exhibition. Loftis arranged for an additional 20 professional artists from New York City to take part.

"I try to come back to West Michigan as much as I can. It’s an exciting place to show and talk about art,” said Loftis. “The goal is to add to an already rich culture that is teeming with artists and new collectors. I have a passion to show and talk about art with artists, art collectors, and people who have had little to zero exposure to art."

The exhibit will highlight Robert DeNiro's father and his contemporaries, a group of American painters from the last 50 years who have work in The Museum of Modern Art and Metropolitan museums - one of which is still alive and is in the documentary by Robert DeNiro about his father Remembering the Artist.

There will be a VIP preview on March 31. The show opens to the public on April 1 at 6PM. DJ AJ Pashka will play from 9PM to Midnight. The exhibition will also be open to the public on April 2 from Noon - 8PM and then by appointment only on Sunday, April 3. Contact Mike Coleman at mike@secondavearts.com for an appointment.
