WZZM reported that ArtPrize, for the first time, extended the opportunity for 25 additional artists across all five categories to qualify for second and third place to offer more opportunity to more artists across the city. So that pool of art will contain the top 50 public votes.

Voting is now active for the second round and, working downtown as I do, it is so fun to see so many people throughout the downtown area all times of the day checking out the 950 pieces and installations that make up ArtPrize this year.

If you are just beginning your quest of art, and you are wondering how do I vote, it's easy. When you find a piece you want to cast a vote for, there will be a QR code on the artist's label that you can scan. The code will take you to a website to cast your vote. You can also enter the artist's five-digit Artist ID to vote for that entry.

Don't forget though, in order to vote, you must have a cell phone and be or have been within the ArtPrize district boundaries at least once between the beginning, September 14 and this Thursday, September 28.

Don't forget there are the juried awards as well and the jurors will evaluate their category selections alongside the public’s final votes for first, second, and third place in the juried awards in the coming weeks.

With the excitement building, the awards ceremony announcing the winners is this Friday, September 29 at 6:30 p.m. at Rosa Parks Circle!
