Any mead-lovers you're looking to buy for this Christmas? Head to Arktos Meadery, now open at their new location downtown Grand Rapids.

Arktos officially opened at 442 Bridge St. NW on Friday, Dec. 11 with a special holiday promotion. During the "12 Days of Arktos", they're offering different discounts for each of the first 12 days they are open.

The West Michigan mead-maker fist opened at the US-131 and Hall Street interchange six years ago and announced their move to downtown last fall.

Owner Maciej Halaczkiewicz  told MiBiz,

"Having the exposure and foot traffic will help bring out the mead lovers... We want to be the go-to place where it’s dimly lit and takes you back in time and there’s no TVs — it’s a warming environment."

If you're unfamiliar, mead is made by fermenting honey with water, sometimes with different fruits, spices, grains, or hops.

To limit contact during the pandemic, Arktos is currently open for pick-up only. You can order bottles online and pick up at their new location on Bridge St. Arktos also has e-gift cards, if you're looking to give the gift of mead this holiday season.

Arktos is open 12p.m. to 9p.m. Masks are required when picking up. The deal of the day during the "12 Days of Arktos" will be posted around 10a.m. daily to Facebook.
