A fight got so big and out of control at Grand Haven State Park, this past Monday, that officials had to close down the park.
WNEM says that the incident occurred around 7 p.m. on July 3rd when 8 to 10 different fights broke out, which was estimated to be around 300 people...
Normally beach goers would already be hitting the sand at Grand Haven State Park.
This year though, the campground and park won't open until May 13, The Grand Haven Tribune reports.
The popular Beach Survival Challenge event is coming back to the Grand Haven State Park tomorrow, Saturday, June 20. The event was started 12 years ago in honor of Andy Fox who lost his life in a rip current. The event was created to raise awareness of water safety along Lake Michigan in a fun, educational atmosphere. Since its inception, over 3,000 kids and adults have participated.
The Grand Haven State Park reported at least 500 people laying on the beach during the March 18th weekend and it was a bit overwhelming for the beach staff.
