If you're a frequent goer of the Great Lakes Kite Festival, or you've never been, this year is your last chance to attend.

MLive reports that 2018 will be the 30th and last year of the festival. MACkite Toy & Surf Shop puts on the event every year and while no reason was cited for it coming to an end [by the owners], Grand Haven's City Manager said

It is a magnificent amount of work for a small retail store to pull this off every year."

This year's festival will be held Saturday, May 19th and Sunday May 20th at Grand Haven State Park (beach) and is FREE to attend. In addition to seeing the sky full of various colorful kites, there will be a performance by stunt kite fliers. You can also expect flying demonstrations and an open field where people can fly their own kites. Get more info about the Great Lakes Kite Festival here.
