'Ghosting' is a modern day shake off of someone you've been dating. And apparently Michiganders do it quite a bit, because we can't stop tweeting about it.

According to the Urban Dictionary, 'ghosting' is:

When a person cuts off all communication with their friends or the person they're dating, with zero warning or notice before hand. You'll mostly see them avoiding friend'sphone calls, social media, and avoiding them in public.

(FYI -- You cannot 'ghost' someone if you've just been chatting on a dating app. That person owes nothing to you, you're not even a casual acquaintance, so don't whine when it happens)

According to JJ's House, a wedding retailer, Michiganders tweet complaining about being ghosted more than any other state in the union.

Does this mean we're a state of slippery people, ready to go dark anytime commitment is near, or does it mean we're just willing to openly talk about it more?

Hard to say, but the next time you get ghosted in Michigan, rest assured, you're not alone. It's part of our DNA.

Now quit texting me.
