Grand Rapids Police are investigating three shootings that occurred over the weekend in which two people were killed.

According to a release from GRDP, the first shooting took place in the 4200 block of Kalamazoo Ave. near the Towne and Country Shopping Center shortly after 11p.m. Saturday, May 14.

Dispatch received 911 calls of shots fired and a possible shooting victim in the lot.  While GRPD officers were investigating the incident, a victim arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound.  He later died from his injury.  A second victim arrived at a local hospital around the same time with a non life threatening gunshot wound.  Both victims are adult males.

The next shooting occurred early Sunday in Eastown. Fox 17 reports that GRPD received calls of shots fired around 2:30a.m. Sunday, at the intersection of Wealthy Street and Ethel Ave.

No injuries were reported, however there was damage to local businesses.

Another shooting occurred Sunday at approximately around 11:08 am, in the 800 block of Martin Luther King Jr St SE.

GRPD got multiple calls of gunshots and a person down on  MLK Jr, St. near Geneva Ave. A 40-year-old man was pronounced dead on scene. According to Fox 17, the deceased was found in a restaurant parking lot.

Police to do not believe the shootings are related. They have not released suspect information in connection to any of the shootings at this time.
