UPDATE: Suspect Accused of Killing Grand Rapids’ Mother of 5 Extradited From Mexico
UPDATE 10/3/2022: A man wanted for murdering 33-year-old Mollie Schmidt has been extradited from Mexico and is now at the Kent County jail, MLive reports.
Schmidt's body was found August 30, 2022 in the apartment of 44-year old Yenly Garcia.
According to police, Garcia attempted to use Schmidt's debit cards at ATMs after her death. He was arrested north of Mexico City September 9, 2022.
UPDATE 9/1/22: A tragic update to this story. Wyoming Department of Public Safety held a press conference Wednesday afternoon in which they shared 33-year-old Mollie Schmidt has been found dead. Her death is being investigated as a homicide.
According to Fox 17, Mollie's body was found with an apparent gunshot wound during the execution of a search warrant at the apartment of 44-year-old Yenly Garcia, near 44th Street and Burlingame Avenue on Tuesday.
Garcia has been named a person of interest in Mollie's death.
Police have shared the below photo of Garcia, who has a history of violence toward women.
Garcia is described as being 5'10" and 200 pounds, with dark-color hair and facial tattoos. He may be driving a black 2019 Dodge Ram with the license plate "ELW6780."

ORIGINAL STORY 8/30/22:The Kent County Sheriff's Office is asking for help locating a missing woman from Plainfield Township.
According to police, Mollie Schmidt (maiden name O'Meara) is 33-years-old, 5'2" and approximately 100lbs, with blonde hair and blue eyes.
She was last seen on August 21st, 2022, at her home near the East Beltline and 5 Mile Rd NE, just north of Grand Rapids.
Police call her disappearance "uncharacteristic" as she has left behind children.
Mollie may be in the company of 44-year-old Yenly Garcia of Wyoming.
