Fall is officially in full swing and in Michigan, that means that snow is just around the corner.  Every year around this time, we look way ahead in the forecast on Accuweather's website and check out every day they predict for it to snow.

Why do we do this?  Well, because we like snow, and because the forecast by Accuweather is usually way off when they predict the weather this far ahead.

OK, so let's get into the meat of it.  In the next 90 days in Grand Rapids, Michigan, we will likely see snow only about 8 days, with a very low probability of the snow sticking until late into December.  Here are the day's that it is forecast to snow:

  • High of 46° / Low of 30°
  • Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers throughout the day witch chance of snow shower early in the day.
  • High of 38° / Low of 26°
  • Cloudy with a chance of snow showers in the afternoon.
  • High of 33° / Low of 16°
  • Cloudy with some snow showers.
  • High of 36° / Low of 20°
  • Mostly cloudy with snow tapering to flurries.
  • High of 35° / Low of 30°
  • Cloudy with a few flurries.
  • High of 39° / Low of 25°
  • Cloudy with a chance of rain throughout the day and chance of some freezing rain in the morning.
  • High of 38° / Low of 23°
  • Cloudy with a chance of rain, freezing rain, or snow showers in the morning.
  • High of 38° / Low of 23°
  • Cloudy with morning snow flurries.

As of right now, there is no snow in the forecast for Christmas, and it looks like there will be a very small chance of any snow being on the ground either.  But, that's just what Accuweather is saying.  According to Climate.gov, we have about a 50-60% chance of a White Christmas depending on what city in West Michigan you are from.
