Police are investigating the heroin overdose of two Grand Rapids-area teenagers on Monday.

According to the Grand Haven Tribune, the women, 18 and 19, were found  in a vehicle in the North Ottawa Community Hospital parking lot.

A hospital maintenance worker found the women around 6:45a.m. Monday. Hospital paramedics and public safety officers were able to provide "life saving aid", said Grand Haven Public Safety Director Jeff Hawke.

The women said they chose the Grand Haven hospital parking lot to shoot up heroin because they thought it would be the safest place to be if they had a problem.
