A mother duck, known for nesting in an East Grand Rapids restaurant's flower box was tragically hit by a car Friday night. Restaurant workers rallied to save her eggs.
On Tuesday morning the City of Grand Rapids received a call to 3-1-1 from a resident who discovered ducklings that had fallen through a grate.
City employees responded quickly and rescued the ducklings.
One kindergarten student said when asked what she thought about the ducks, "they are so cute and I so am excited for them to walk out because it will be like a parade."
