Prepare for slowdowns as MDOT crews close two lanes of traffic for work on southbound 131 through Grand Rapids.

Reconstruction of the US-131 interchange at Stadium Drive in Kalamazoo began today. MDOT says the new interchange will be open to traffic in early September.

Traveling north during the summer in Michigan is hard enough, but it's about to get even more difficult. There will be a total closure on northbound US-131 in Mecosta County from August 9 - 14.
