Traveling north during the summer in Michigan is hard enough, but it's about to get even more difficult. There will be a total closure on northbound US-131 in Mecosta County from August 9 - 14.

Construction projects are all around West Michigan. It's just the beginning of a long summer of slowdowns. If you're heading north this weekend, there's at least one construction zone to consider avoiding.

With the warm weather, comes the bright orange cones and detours.  Construction men and women who take their own lives into their hands and hope and pray that distracted, texting drivers pay attention to the "slow down" signs. Beginning on Monday, April 23rd through Wednesday, May 16th expect detours and delays on both US 131 and I 196.  The repairs will cause two ramps to close north of
