Here we go again, three weeks until another time change. Whether we're moving ahead or back one hour, eastern standard time or eastern daylight time, whichever, it's crazy!

Yep, it's a bit early this year. Sunday, March 8, at 2 a.m. is the day and time, so we will SPRING AHEAD ONE HOUR.

Get ready to lose an hour of sleep, and for your body to have to readjust again.

I don't know about you, but I am so done with this. Moving back and forth messes with my circadian rhythm, and I'm upset!

My what?

You know, it's our body's natural clock, and keeps our sleep cycles healthy.

It is way too complicated to explain how this works but suffice it to say we totally mess with our health with two time changes every year. Aaarrrrgghh!

On top of that, the first day of spring isn't until March 20 this year, so we really are jumping ahead a bit.

Is there any hope that this might change or are we doomed for our remaining days losing sleep, gaining sleep, and getting all messed up?

We're pretty much doomed!

Congress and the states can't agree on anything, much less reverting to a single time, standard or daylight saving time. Bills have been introduced and batted around but have died an ugly death.

And, to put the argument to rest, daylight saving, not savings, time was not created for farmers. They were the main opponents of the plan because they didn't want to have to do early morning chores in the dark.

It was World War I that caused it. Energy conservation was very important, thus daylight saving time, or war time, began.

However it only lasted for a year or so before the law was repealed. It wasn't until WWII that it was reinstated.

And, yes, from then on, we were doomed!
