Salvation Army Kettle Campaign Going Cashless?
It is common knowledge that increasingly, we doesn’t carry cash, or much of it when we're shopping. Instead we rely on our debit and credit cards for when shopping. With the holidays just around the corner, that can have a big impact for the Salvation Army as they embark on their biggest fundraising effort of the year, the Kettle Campaign. You know, the red kettles and bell ringers found throughout malls, shopping areas, and stores. Many of us will put some money in the kettle, if we have it, or, try to avoid the eyes of the bell ringer, thinking that if I don't make eye contact they won't know I'm here. Uh huh.
With that in mind, the Salvation Army has come up with a creative idea, The Season Pass Pin. This is a no-hassle way to support The Salvation Army at Christmas. Simply show the Season Pass Pin and get a “pass” from your kettle donation along with a sincere “thank you” from the bell ringer.
The Season Pass Pin has already been successful in Kansas, Florida, Wisconsin and Illinois and is now available here for the first time in Kent County. These attractive Season Pass Pins are available in $20, $50, $100 and $150 increments and are good for the entire Christmas season. The $150 Season Pass Pin commemorates and celebrates The Salvation Army’s 150th anniversary. A limited number of pins are available online at: http://saseasonpass.org Proceeds from the purchase of the Season Pass Pin will be used locally to support a variety of programs and services both at Christmastime and throughout the year.
