One of the greatest luxuries you can give yourself in this life is the gift of treating yourself. Self care should be required, because when you're looking and feeling your best, you generally are doing your best at home, work and with your family.

But if you're like me, you may be reluctant to treat yourself because you're worried about taking care of others. But, a new location of a Lash Salon and Candle Bar in Grand Rapids will allow you to treat yourself while giving back to others.

Beauty by Felicia located near the corner of Burton and Division, is not only offering lash services and a full sized candle making bar, they're also giving back to people in need by donating a portion of the proceeds from their business to Hospice and Cancer Patients around West Michigan.

Owner Felicia Wingfield says she decided to start the business not only because it was her passion, but also because she wants to give back to the community.

She's also looking to raise awareness about how Hospice doesn't always mean end of life, sometimes people graduate from the program and go on to live happy and productive longer lives thanks to the program. But, unfortunately Hospice is expensive for some families and Felicia hopes to help bridge that gap with her donations.

Felicia says she's donated over $12,000 so far, and hopes that this new location can help her widen her impact for people in West Michigan. She also helps cancer patients with lash extensions, because of their loss of hair during treatment with kemo, she's able to give them some self esteem back with her services - a gift in it's own right.

If you aren't looking for lash services, they offer a candle making bar that allows you to create unique smells just for you- and money from those services will also be donated, which could make a great gift for the upcoming holiday season.
