The Salvation Army of Kent County certainly found that out, as they successfully raised $43,633 on Tuesday, December 1, during the national “Giving Tuesday” – a national day of giving at the start of the annual holiday season that celebrates and encourages charitable activities that support nonprofit organizations.

With the holidays just around the corner, that can have a big impact for the Salvation Army as they embark on their biggest fundraising effort of the year, the Kettle Campaign.
With the holiday season comes many non-profits raising money to support the fine work they do.
And, nothing is more recognizable than the bell ringers of the Salvation Army. Volunteers are stationed at many popular shopping locations hoping that the public will be generous and contribute to the red kettles.
