A 22-year old Norton Shores man has been arrested after being accused of putting pieces of a metal cooling rack into bread at R.W. Bakers Co., MLive reports.

Adam Brooks, an employee at R.W. Bakers Co. on  Mt. Garfield Road in Norton Shores, has been charged with placing a harmful substance into a food product.

Other employees came forward and told management what he'd done. Brooks was arrested Tuesday.

According to authorities, none of the affected bread made it to consumers and there is no threat to public safety.

If convicted, Brooks could face up to 15 years in prison.
